NHS Professional’s high standards for employee professional development recognised by the ACCA

NHS Professionals has gained coveted ‘Approved Employer’ status from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), thanks to an unwavering focus on creating professional development opportunities for its staff.

“I’m delighted that we have become an ACCA ‘Approved Employer’,” said Helen McMullan, Head of Talent Management and Development at NHS Professionals.

“ACCA’s accreditation demands a rigorous focus on creating an environment of continuous learning and development. We are committed to supporting all of our staff to grow their skills and their careers through professional qualifications or certifications.

“We believe that this is the best way to recruit and retain highly skilled, passionate people who then create careers with NHS Professionals, helping us to put people in places to care throughout the NHS.”

The ACCA accreditation is primarily focused on the development opportunities available to NHS Professionals’ Accounting team, however, in reaching their decision, ACCA assess the whole organisation’s approach to learning and development.  The accreditation- now sits alongside recognition from the Top Employers’ Institute for NHS Professionals’ dedication to excellence in HR and people practices.

Behind NHS Professionals’ recent successes lies the ‘Compelling Employee Journey’.  This is an umbrella initiative that brings together an online learning and development portal (Institute of Learning), an employee engagement platform and an online performance management tool which puts the employee at the heart of their own career development.

“Our people are integral to solving NHS staffing shortages,” continued Helen.

By building our teams’ skills and capabilities, we’re able to continually react to the changing needs of our client Trusts.  This is good for our employees, for our clients and, ultimately, for the patients who are cared for by NHS Professionals Bank Members.

“I’m proud of our culture of continuous development, and thrilled that it is being recognised by prestigious national organisations.”
