Sharing our workforce expertise

NHS Professionals were recently invited to share the business’ workforce expertise with senior leaders within the UK’s premier staffing companies at the World Leaders In Recruitment event, organised by TALiNT Partners.

Speaking after the event, Mike Ruddle, NHS Professional’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:

“The recruitment industry is undergoing a seismic shift as new technologies emerge which allow us to contact more candidates about more roles more often.

“However, I believe that there will always be a role for the human recruitment professional. At NHS Professionals, that means a real person at the end of a phone or responding to an email. Technology can take us so far, but the personal element has never felt more important.”

During the pandemic, NHS Professionals launched a webchat service, perfectly combining the benefits of a technological platform with the expertise, reassurance and encouragement that only a real person can bring. This helped our candidates to get answers to their questions quickly and easily, and often faster than using more traditional methods.

Creating long term relationships is key to NHS Professionals’ continued ability to fill shifts for its client NHS Trusts. Underlining these relationships is a strong focus on training and development to support flexible working as a career of choice.

Mike continued:

“Being able to benefit from a long term, compliant, compelling training and development offering is an essential part of the NHS Professionals’ Bank Member Experience.

“The pandemic has shown us the importance of creating a long-term offer and we are now in the initial stages of building an NHSP Academy to help meet the needs of our candidates and expectations of our clients for the future.

“This is an exciting development which will support our Bank Members’ careers, and help us to continue to strengthen staffing in the NHS from the ward floor through to senior management levels.”

At the World Leaders in Recruitment event, Mike shared a panel with Andrew Spence (Workforce Futurist) and Kevin Freeguard (Gattaca), specifically examining the challenges of adapting to new workforce trends and customer demands.
